He and his brothers invested everything they had into Wolfe Industries. In the beginning, no one wanted to take a chance on six men who had no business background. The number of doors that were shut in their faces should have told them to give up. But they were Wolfe’s and the term never giving up was in their genetics. After the last rejection, they pooled their inheritances together and started their company. Their younger brother Mikhail who’s named after their father. He was still in high school when they began Wolfe Industries. Mikhail had a good head on his shoulders and became a silent partner until a couple of years ago when he graduated from college.
Two years ago Dimitrius’ father stepped down as alpha of the East Point Pack, handing the reins over to him. In the two years since he’s been an alpha, he prayed to the goddess that he was a good leader the same way his dad was. Dimitrius was proud of his pack. They were one of the largest pack on the east coast. When he took over the pack, he made his brother Antoninus who was also the vice president of Wolfe Industries his beta. Corin and Mathis became his enforcers. Mathis was in charge of their marketing department, and Corin was in charge of their accounting. Mikhail took over their security when the Jason their previous guy quit. All six Wolfe men except for Mikhail stood over six feet tall with muscles sprouting in every direction started Wolfe Industries.
The pack was just as important as Wolfe Industries. He was glad that he and his brothers didn’t have to force the pack into the digital age. The members were forward thinking, and each did something to contribute to their pack. They were also grateful that their company funds did not need to supplement an income to the pack. There were members of the pack that worked for Wolfe Industries, but they got the job based on their qualifications.
Dimitrius turned and sat at his desk fiddling with the ring on his finger. It was large enough to hide his mating mark. His wolf growled thinking of their mate. Three weeks ago he’d gone to a new nightclub with Mathis. It was also a new club that had a no human policy. There were more than werewolves and humans living among each other. There were many forms of sifters, vampires, witches, wizards, and anything human’s think that goes bump in the night.
If he’d known he was going to meet his mate that night, Dimitrius would have stayed sober. The last thing he remembered was ordering a drink and then waking up the next morning in a hotel room naked and alone. He looked down at the Celtic tribal tattoo. It was beautifully unique, and his mate would have an identical one like it. He’d gone back to Mystical to see if he recognized or if they remembered him. But nothing. Dimitrius was starting to think that his mate was a wizard. They are powerful and have the ability to erase people’s minds.
Dimitrius wished he could remember what his mate looked like. It’s been almost two months, and he was starting to go crazy. Dimitrius sighed as thoughts of his parents came to him. After being married and mated for so long they remain in love with each other. Not many of his kind have had the fortune to stay in love and in lust with each other. He longed for the same life, and respect his parents have for each other.
So how come you let your mate get away? asked a sarcastic voice in his head. That is because I did not know he was my mate at the time. Dimitrius answered the voice.
“Great now I’m talking and answering myself.” But Dimitrius knew that it is his subconscious kicking him in the ass for letting the one man that will love him get away from him. Telling himself that he was too drunk off his ass, and it was a one-night stand was not a good excuse.
For the past six weeks, the only thing Dimitrius could remember about his mate were those vivid green-gray eyes and soft raven hair. Movies like to portray the myth that were-creatures are not being able to get intoxicated. If only if they knew how wrong they are. Drinks that are one hundred percent proof alcohol packs a pretty hard punch. Dimitrius’ preferred drink was absinthe. He drank it straight, no ice or chaser. He had cases of it in his wine cellar. He loved the way it burned going down and the slight buzz he got from drinking it. But he’d never gotten so drunk that he would end up forgetting the next day.
Dimitrius was certain his mate’s man. Years ago, he and his brothers came out to their parents telling them that even though they have been with women, they preferred the company of men. Most parents in the supernatural world are not so accepting of the son’s being gay or bisexual even with the prospect of their male mate getting pregnant.
Dimitrius placed the ring back on his finger. He hated hiding things from his family. But until he figured out what the hell happened, he needed to find his mate. He wasn’t going to tell anyone, no matter how long it took. Dimitrius was usually a man of control, but that night all his control must have gone out the door. Dimitrius pulled out a pen and paper and tried to write down the things he remembered about his mate.
Raven jet black shoulder length hair, gray eyes, and tan, beautiful skin. He cannot recall if his mate had any markings or tattoos on his skin. And his scent, cinnamon, and vanilla burnt in his nose. The next morning after waking up to the scent sex permeated the room along with the bed sheets and pillows. Dimitrius’s heads began to hurt. Each time he tried to recall more about his mate, it brought on a headache.
Dimitrius sighed clearing his mind trying to focus on work. He pulled the file on a new merger that he brother Antinous was trying to get with Silver & Gray Inc. The CEO Grayson Silver had been in the news lately since his company went public. It was a small IT firm that branched out into much more. If they could combine their IT firms, it would take Wolfe Industries a to a whole new level.
He tapped a few keys on his keyboard bringing up the information he had on the CEO Alexis Silver and Cullen Grayson. There wasn’t a lot of information on Silver but other than their name and birth date. Not even a picture to tell if the person was a man or woman. He tried to dig deeper, but found he was blocked at every turn as if Silver was part of the government. But a wealth of information on Cullen Gray, who was the face of the company. He continued to read the rest of the information only looking up when there is a knock at his office door.
“Come in,” he yelled.
He wasn’t surprised when Antinous walked in. “What’s up?”
“I should be asking you that. Did you forget that we had a meeting?”
“Yeah, we were supposed to meet with Kyle Smith to talk about that new tech company we wanted to buy.”
Dimitrius leaned back in his chair and threw his pen down. “Shit, I completely forgot about that.” He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his desk and rubbed the sides of his head. He still had a headache, and it didn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. Not only couldn’t he remember what his mate looked like he forgot simple things like meetings.
“Are you ready to tell us what the hell is going on with you?” Antinous asked.
Dimitrius looked at his brother’s. “What do you mean?”
“For the past couple of weeks you’ve been acting a bit, I don’t know forgetful.”
“It was one meeting Ant.”
“Today it was one meeting, yesterday it was two.”
Fuck, what the hell happened to me?
“Talk to me,” Antinous said, unbuttoning his suit jacket and taking it off before sitting in the chair in front of Dimitrius’ desk.
He said he wasn't going to tell anyone, but he knew his brother wouldn't let up until he did. “If I told you it was nothing would you believe me?” Antinous didn’t respond, and Dimitrius got his answer. Instead of saying anything he took off the ring and showed his brother his mating mark.
“Holy shit,” Antinous said quickly getting out of his chair and grabbing Dimitrius’ hand inspecting it. “Tell me this is a tattoo.”
“You’re mated? Where is he? And why are you just now telling me about this?” Antionous asked releasing his hand.
“I don’t know what he looks like,” he blurted out.
His office is quiet for a second before Antinous spoke up. “What the fuck do you mean you don’t know what he looks like?”
Dimitrius put his ring back on his finger and sighed. He didn’t take offense to his brother’s tone. It was a legitimate question. “Remember a couple of weeks ago I went out with a few friends to that new night club.”
“Yeah, Mystic something.”
“It’s a club for supe’s. The last thing I remember other than waking up in the hotel the next morning was ordering a drink. Everything else is blank.
“What the hell?” Antious said.
“Every time I try to remember something about that night I get terrible headaches.”
“Do you think you were bewitched, or tricked into mating with someone, like a vampire?”
“I don’t know. And get this, I went back to the club, and no one remembers meeting me. Not the bartender or the wait staff. Fuck, all Mathis remembers is up going to the club and having a good time. But if we had such a good time, why can’t I remember anything.”
Antinous was quiet for a few minutes thinking before his eyes widened. “I think your mates a wizard.”
“How do you figure that?”
“They are the only ones who can manipulate another supe’s memory.”
“I was thinking the same thing not too long ago. It’s good to hear I’m not the only one. So how the hell do we find him?”
“That, dear brother, I have no clue.”
His brother didn’t get a chance to answer, because his office phone rang.
“What is it Bailey,” he said answering it.
“Sir, there is a Mr. Silver here to see you.”
Dimitrius brows creased into a frown. Silver, where the hell did I hear that name? Then it slowly hit him. Alexis Silver is a man? He looked at his brother to see if they had a meeting with the guy and he forgot again. Antinous shook his head, knowing what he was asking.
“Sir, are you still there?”
“Um. . . Yes, Bailey, please send him in.”
“Very we. . .”
Before Bailey could finish his statement and Dimitrius could hang up a furious and attractive men burst through his office door.
“How could you fucking do this to me?” the guy yelled.
“Do what?” Antinous asked.
Dimitrius couldn’t speak, he couldn’t take his eyes off the man. He wasn’t tall but not too short. With long jet black hair, and piercing grey eyes. Even with anger written all over his face, he could envision the man in throws of passion. Begging Dimitrius to fuck him, his cock got so hard it became unbearable in a short time. His eyes gazed up and down the man’s body. The soft and hard ridges of his skin. The way he smelled and the way his eyes burned with passion. And then it hit him.
“It was you,” he blurted out. He could feel himself getting angry even in his aroused state as he stood to his feet.
“What the hell is going ?” Antinous asked.
Both Dimitrius and Silver didn’t respond they kept staring at each other.
“Why did you erase my memory,” he growled.
“Because you were only supposed to be a one-night stand and now I’m fucking pregnant!”
